29 Lao women rescued in crackdown on Kalasin prostitution

In a joint operation to crackdown on a trans-national prostitution ring, Kalasin officials and the Army arrested three suspects and rescued 29 Lao women.
The 50-strong team raided three karaoke bars in Na Khoo subdistrict on Wednesday night. Bar owners Natthapong Laohakul, Sumalee Charoentham and Mukda Suk-amnat were initially charged with hiring undocumented migrant workers and opening a business establishment without permission, while Natthapong faces an additional charge of procuring women for prostitution.
