THAI Airways TG 508 flight with 296 crew and passengers arrived safely at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 1.35am yesterday.
The jet was stranded at Pakistan’s Jinnah International Airport for over 24 hours when Taliban militants attacked the airport on Sunday night, resulting in at least 37 deaths.
Thai passenger Pimrapas Wisetserm, 36, said that all passengers were asked to stay inside the jet for three hours during the assault before they were escorted to a safe place and provided with accommodation and meals. She said she was afraid as she heard from fellow passengers about the terrorists' brutality and she could see lights from the gun battle 700 metres away. "I'm so glad to be back home safely," she added.
