The Thai Embassy in the United Kingdom's deputy chief of mission Nudhavathna Krishnamra will take charge of the embassy's affairs following the recall of Thai ambassador Pasan Teparak last week, Foreign Ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee said yesterday.
The ministry cited propriety as reason for reassigning Pasan, who has close ties with ousted former prime ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra.
Sek said Nudhavathna was a capable and reliable diplomat and would be acting on behalf of Pasan for now, adding that no new envoy would be assigned as it was not time for reshuffles yet.
