THE REFORM Now Network (RNN) yesterday called on all sides to end the political conflict by pushing for reform and addressing the root cause of the problems faced by the country, adding that holding an election without a promise of reform may only create
RNN, whose members include dozens of organisations as well as Justice Ministry permanent secretary Kittipong Kittayarak, issued the statement after collecting opinions from the public about possible solutions for the current political impasse.
The statement said reform would bring sustainable strength to the country, so all political camps should ensure that their common goal is to introduce reform and strengthen the Kingdom.
Need for significant change
Every sector in the country is aware of this need and wants to take part in this major change. The public desire for change is strong enough to push for reform using democratic means so the country can move forward, the statement said.
It also pointed out that democracy in Thailand had not reached a dead-end yet as it could opt for other mechanisms within democratic means to find a way out of the impasse.
Holding an election without finding common ground on reform would only add more problems as proved by the February 2 polls, the statement said.
