Police are seeking arrest warrants for two suspects allegedly involved in a shooting on Sunday that killed three people - including a 2-year-old girl - and wounded a 12-year-old boy, in Yala's Bannang Sata district.
A source in the police investigation team said that witnesses had identified the possible culprits and police were gathering evidence to seek arrest warrants for two people: a kindergarten teacher alleged to have served as a getaway driver, and a local villager, the alleged shooter.
Meanwhile, Bannang Sata district chief Somsak Charoenpaitoon said administrative officials, police, Army officers and religious leaders visited tambon Bannang Kuwae to bring two groups of residents together to resolve a dispute that allegedly led to the fatal gun attack. He said, however, that officials hadn’t totally ruled out the possibility that insurgents were involved in the gun attack.
