Sasithara Pichaichannarong's dismissal from her post as secretary-general of the Office of the Education Council (OEC) has received a Royal approval.
The endorsement of the dismissal was announced on the website of the Cabinet Secretariat’s Cabinet Publishing and Gazette Office on April 4 by Prime Minister’s Office. The dismissal has been in effect since March 18.
Sasithara was sacked for her role in the overpriced procurement of instruction materials meant for eight vocational colleges while she was serving as secretary-general of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. The 2011 purchase cost the state more than Bt31 million in losses.
