Student Loan Fund (SLF) debtors are being encouraged to repay their student loans to get discounts and to give the next-generation students a chance at educational opportunities.
SLF manager Thitima Wichairat yesterday said that, as the agency’s request for funds from the central budget hadn’t seen much progress yet, the SLF is implementing a campaign until March 31 offering various incentives to convince its debtors to repay their loans.
Firstly, those who do not have overdue amounts and wish to close their loan accounts would get a 3.5-per-cent reduction of the principle amount.
Secondly, those who have overdue amounts and wished to repay all debts would get a waive for fine and late payment fee plus a 50 per cent discount on interest and loan management fee.
From November 1 to February 20 the campaign saw about 130,000 people repaying a total of Bt700 million, she added.
