Caretaker Education Minister Chaturon Chaisang instructed schools to provide extra classes to students affected by political rallies so they can prepare for final exams and university entrance exams, a senior official said yesterday.
After a ministerial executive meeting yesterday, Education Ministry permanent secretary Suthasri Wongsaman said the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) and the Office of the Higher Education Commission reported that all institutes and schools had resumed classes, except some in the South. Chaturon urged that all schools should provide extra classes to the students in preparation for the final exams and university entrance exams in February and March, she said.
Obec told the meeting that only 10 per cent of Bangkok schools were unaffected by the political rallies, she added.
