With Earth, Wind & Fire headlining, new sports complex True Arena Hua Hin will host the annual True Jazz Festival on Friday and Saturday (March 24 and 25).

The Agency and the InterContinental Hua Hin are joining True Arena in organising the celebration of world-class jazz, fusion, funk, soul, R&B, big band, brass band and mor lam from the Thai Northeast.

Grammy Award-winning American funk giants Earth, Wind & Fire are heading a line-up that also features the All Stars from Los Angeles, Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, the Yellowjackets and the Benny Golson Quartet.

Thai artists onstage will include Soul after Six, the Thailand All-Stars Jazz Orchestra, Pod Moderndog, the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band and the Bangkok Brass Band.

One-day admission is Bt2,000 and both days Bt3,500. You can stay at the InterContinental for the two nights for Bt39,999, and that includes a ticket upgrade to VIP status, a ride to the venue and champagne in the VIP lounge.

“When you talk about jazz, Hua Hin in Prachuap Kiri Khan always comes to mind because it’s hosted so many jazz events over the years, constantly promoting Thai tourism,” says True Arena executive director Proudputh Liptapanlop.

“We’re inviting tourists and jazz lovers to come and enjoy the music in this great relaxing atmosphere. Musicians from all over the world will be gathering at the 40-rai centre for sports and concerts in the heart of Hua Hin.

“With hotels, transportation and high-standard facilities, Hua Hin has all the capabilities and readiness to support this world-class jazz music festival.”
