Former teen pop idols Lift and Oil shed the years |as they reunite this for a dance party
After wowing fans during a guest appearance at Raptor’s concert last year, former Thai duo Lift Oil are getting back together their own show “Lift Oil Happy Party” this weekend at Impact Arena.
As the title implies, the stage is being equipped for a full dance bash, with colourful lights and powerful sound system to get the audience on the feet as the pair perform a medley of 30 hits from their ’90’s albums “New Koi”, “Aeb Mee Thur” “A-Ha” and “Rom Bor Joy”.
“We’ll be inviting the fans to join in wholeheartedly as we recall the beautiful bygone days. We want everyone going home with big smiles on their faces. We’ve rearranged about 30 of our hits and we hope fans can remember the words,” say Supoj “Lift” Chancharoen and Thana “Oil” Suttikamon say.
Fans will see the duo attired in colourful gear, including orange and blue suits as well as shorts, which they say relate to scenes from a very music video when they wore tiny midriff T-shirts.
“We’ll be joined on stage by our artist friends too, but we’re keeping the names top secret to a surprise to fans,” Oil says.
For nine years Lift and Oil were signed with RS Promotion and were the teen idols of pop fans. They released their first album “Rom Bor Joy” back in 1994 and the single of the same name shot to the top of the charts. Four more albums followed, spawning such hits as “Doo Mai”, “Noy Jai”, “Oak Hak Rueng Lek”, “A-Ha”, “Aeb Mee Thur” and “Mur Plao”.
They split in 2003 and have both been pursuing successful careers as actors.
