Korean pop-rockers FT Island thrill their fans with a show at Thunder Dome
The five members of Korean band FT Island proved they are more than just good looking lads by playing a strong set in front of some 3,000 adoring fans at last Saturday’s two-hour concert, “Play! FT Island in Bangkok” at Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani.
The audience screamed loudly when a big screen showing FT Island’s tour schedule came to a sudden halt at “09.06 Play! in Thailand”. The screams became positively deafening as guitarist Song Seung Hyun, bassist Lee Jae Jin, drummer Choi Min Hwan, guitarist Choi Jong Hoon and singer Lee Hong Gi stepped out on stage and swung into their opening number “Hello Hello”.
The Korean boys segued into “I’ll Get You” and “Bad Woman” before stopping to greet the audience in Thai. Seung Hyun shouted out “long time no see, I love you” while Jong Hoon asked “Am I sexy?”
FT Island had fans up and dancing on “I Hope”, “Bing Bing Bing”, and “The Cool vs The Pretty” before rocking their way through “Neverland”, “Satisfaction”, “I Want”, and “Flower Rock”.
After a break, the lads went acoustic with such emotive ballads as “Always Be Mine”, “We Hope to Become Lovers”, and “I Confess”.
They then revved up the excitement meter with “That Person in Shinsadog”, “I’ll Love Everything”, “Don Quixote’s Song”, “Troublemaker” and “Prima Donna”, splashing water from the stage into the audience.
The concert wrapped with the new song “Severely”, “Love Love Love” and “Like Birds”.
“Will you marry me?” asked the singer, and about 3,000 fans screamed “yes” before making their way home with big smiles on their faces.
