Nippon Paint (Thailand)’s auto refinishing business unit is optimistic that this segment will grow steadily this year, at a similar level to 2016, with a total market value of about Bt3.8 billion to Bt4.0 billion.
To respond to market trends, the company will invest Bt80 million to launch a series of marketing events designed to communicate with end users and paint technicians.
This includes the introduction of new green products and collaborations with partners to expand market opportunities in neighbouring countries, expecting to grasp a market share of 28-30 per cent. That will enable Nippon Paint to maintain its leadership in the automotive refinishing industry, said Taweechai Tangtanawirut, general manager of the business unit.
Overall, in the first quarter of 2017, the automotive refinishing market in Thailand showed an upward trend, partly as a result of a 15-per-cent increase in car sales. This consequently increases the accumulated number of cars in the market.
