Auto sales in Eastern Bangkok and Samut Prakan are expected to be stimulated by Fast Auto Show Thailand 2013, which features new models from 16 brands and previously owned vehicles from leading used-car dealers.
The event, with a total show area of 10,000sqm, will be held from July 17-21 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Organiser of the show Pattanadesh Asasappakij said that last year 300,000 visitors attended the event, and 4,800 orders were placed for automobiles.
“This year the auto market is still active due to various factors including attractive sales campaigns from auto companies and the introduction of new models,” he said, adding that as many as 400,000 visitors are expected and sales could reach 6,000 vehicles.
“We are staging the show at BITEC again as we found that Eastern Bangkok and Samut Prakan are together a new business area with high purchasing power,” he said.
Vice chairman of the organising committee Chalatchai Paphatphong said Thailand’s auto market would start to return to normal after the half-year mark, as auto-makers are busy delivering vehicles from last year’s First Car Buyer Programme.
“As the market is expected to recover during the mid-year period, it coincides with the staging of the Fast Auto Show Thailand 2013. We are confident the market will start to recover during that period,” he said.
Auto-makers participating in the show include Chevrolet, Citroen, Deva, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Sammitr Green Power, Skoda, Subaru and Toyota.
Meanwhile, 2,000 used vehicles are also expected to be sold during the show. Thirteen used-car dealers are taking part, and every vehicle will be personally inspected by Pattanadesh, allowing buyers to ensure high-quality previously owned vehicles.
Financing services as well as an area for test-driving vehicles will also be provided.
