PTT Group is the top employer of choice in Thailand for young Thais, according to a survey.
The top five are PTT Group, SCG, Proctor and Gamble, Unilever and CP Group, according to a survey by Aon Hewitt and CareerVisa Thailand. The result covered 450 late Generation Y and early Generation X from top private and public universities such as Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Kasetsart University, Mahidol University and Bangkok University who have participated in Life after College BootCamp on June 28.
These companies are selected for two main reasons: a group characteristic and their world-class products and services.
Aon Hewitt, an international human resource reseach group, said that this is consistent with its research study that Millennium generation wants to have the opportunity to work in the organisations with many kinds of businesses because when they work to a certain point, there is a potential of job rotation into other areas of the organization. They could gain both new experience and widen their knowledge.
"This has answered the problem of ways to attract new generation. By working at an organisation with high brand reputation and excellent products is one kind of rewards for them in addition to quantitative rewards."
In selecting a place to work, these students pay attention most to learning and development opportunity and opportunity for career growth followed by competitive compensations and benefits, and interesting & challenging work and job security/stability with the same score.
From the survey, the main driver that could retain employees in long term is job security/stability followed by competitive compensations and benefits, and opportunities for career growth, respectively.
