Dumex is recalling five products in Thailand on a contamination alert.
This followed the alert from Fonterra - a New Zealand-based dairy supplier - that one of their ingredients had a potential contamination issue, and that this ingredient was supplied
For this reason, Dumex has instigated a precautionary recall of some specific products in Thailand for the safety of consumers. The products recalled are those manufactured during April 29, 2013 and June 28, 2013.
In a statement, Dumex apologises for any inconvenience caused by this, "but the safety of our consumers is our paramount concern".
"Dumex’s quality and food safety management system includes rigorous testing procedures of our finished products. None of the products tested and sold in Thailand indicate any contamination. However, given the information supplied by Fonterra, we have taken the decision to make a precautionary recall on specific products," it said.
The products being recalled are:
Product name/Manufacturing dates
Dupro Step 2/29.04.2013 to 28.06.2013
Hi-Q Step 1/09.05.2013 to 15.07.2013
Hi-Q Step 2/29.04.2013 to 25.06.2013
