There has been no significant impact from the European Union's sanctions over the coup in Thailand, said Isara Vongkusolkit, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
“We have met with many ambassadors of EU members and they acknowledged that the measure has no relation to trading activities,” he said.“We as the private sector will follow the situation very closely, but now no [sign of] any negative impact has been raised by the evidence.”
The board of the National Broadcasting and Telecommuni-cations Commission yesterday approved public hearings on its plan to give away vouchers to households to help them buy digital TV receivers.
The hearings will focus on whether the voucher value should be Bt690 or higher, the appropriate funding source, whether the vouchers will be given to all households, and what types of equipment the vouchers can be used for.
TEIJIN TYRE CORD JV
Japan’s Teijin Group will establish Teijin FRA Tire Cord (Thailand) Co in partnership with Ayaha Corp.
Ayaha is a Japanese company specialising in tyre-cord production. It will hold a 33.34-per-cent stake in the venture, while Teijin Ltd and Teijin Frontier Co Ltd will own the rest.
“The Teijin Group will develop midstream business by accelerating sales to Asia’s expanding automotive industry, aiming to strengthen its local supply of automotive rubber materials, such as tyre cord and hose cord, to customers in China and the Asean region,” it said.
