The National Press Council of Thailand resolved Tuesday to have a subcomittee investigate the Manager Weekend for having allegedly published distorted information to discredit the junta.
NCPT President Chakkrit Permpool said the council came up with the resolution after the meeting considered the complaint of the junta against the magazine.
The investigative panel is headed by Sitthichoke Srimuang, a vice president of the council.
Chakkrit said the subcommittee will submit a letter to the Manager Weekend to explain the issue or to submit an apology. If the junta is happy with the explanation or apology, the case will be considered closed, he said.
