Muslim insurgents detonated a roadside bomb to ambush a patrol unit of rangers Sunday night, killing a ten-year-old girl and injuring two rangers and three other civilians in Pattani's Saiburi district.
Two of the injured civilians are a 7-year-old girl and 18-month-old girl. The civilians were by-standers when the blast occurred at 9:30 pm.
