Gen Paibul Khumchaya, chief of the legal division of National Council for Peace and Order, said Wednesday that NCPO chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha is qualified to become the interim prime minister.
Paibul said the provisional charter does not prohibit NCPO members to sit on the Cabinet. The interim charter prohibits members of the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Council from becoming Cabinet members.
“I personally see that Prayuth does not lack any qualification,” Paibul said when a reporter asked him whether the NCPO chief would become the interim PM.
“He is now working like the prime minister and he has been administering the country during the past two and three months with prudence. He always chaired meetings of all committees and administered all ministries without any problem.”
