Wissanu Krea-Ngam, legal advisor of the junta, said Wednesday that the number of the National Council for Peace and Order may be increased from seven to 15 following the promulgation of the provisional charter.
Wissanu said the NCPO has been empowered by the charter to send proposals on various issues to the Cabinet but it would be up to the government whether it would heed the suggestions or not.
He said the NCPO had no power to directly remove the Cabinet. The interim charter instead requires the NCPO to ask the NCPO-appointed National Legislative Assembly to purge the Cabinet.
