Law lecturer Vorajet Pakirat showed up at the military court Thursday after police lodged a petition seeking to extend his detention pending investigation.
The court approved the request, extending his detention by another 12 days until July 22. This is the third time that Vorajet’s detention has been extended, and police can only ask for one more extension as suspects can be detained for no more than 48 days in total.
The court also granted Vorajet temporary release on bail provided he refrained from staging anticoup rallies, engaging in politicsrelated activities or leaving the country.
