Five companies of police to monitor against coup protests

Deputy national police chief Lt-General Somyot Pumpanmuang said five companies of policemen have been prepared to monitor anti-coup protests and activities Sunday, Nation TV reported.
He said the police will not arrest the protesters at the scene but the officers will take their photos and issue arrest warrants later in order to reduce tension.
Major locations the troops will stage their operation are Siam Paragon, Lan Pho ground in Thammasat University at Tha Prachan campus, Ratchaprasong intersection near fast-food giant McDonald’s, Skywalk at Victory Monument, Central Lad Phrao, Emerald Buddha Temple in Sanam Luang as well as cinemas, which offered free admissions to King Naresuan movie.
