Acting Prime Minister Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan said Thursday that the martial law that has been declared by the Army cannot overrule the Constitution.
Niwattumrong said he could not resign to pave way for an interim government to be formed as the Constitution requires the caretaker government to continue administering the country until the next government is formed.
He said the Constitution is the highest law of the country and the martial law cannot be invoked to suspend enforcement of certain articles of the charter.
