The Criminal Court Monday afternoon revoked an arrest warrant issued earlier the day against red-shirt Jatuporn Promphan.
The court revoked the warrant after Jatuporn came to the court at 1:30 pm to explain that he had no intention to delay the court’s trial.
Jatuporn was accused of defaming Abhisit Vejjaijva during rallies in October 2009 when Abhisit was the prime minister.
Jatuporn told the court that he did not attend the session in the morning to testify as a defense witness because he feared that his life would be in danger. He said he had learnt that anti-government protesters would rally at the court in the morning.
After hearing Jatuporn explain, the court asked Jatuporn to testify at 9 am on May 26.
