Jatuporn Prompan, the chairman of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship, claimed Friday that he had learned that the military top brass want to have Army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha the interim nonpartisan prime minister.
Jatuporn said he was informed by a high-level “water-melon” Army officer that the military top brass had discussed the political situation and agreed that Prayuth should take the post of nonpartisan prime minister.
He challenged Prayuth to swear in front of the Emerald Buddha the discussion did not happen.
Jatuporn called on the red shirts to come out in full force to rally at the Utthayan Road to prevent the appointment of a nonpartisan prime minister.
