Election Commission Chairman Supachai Somcharoen said Friday that he could not tell when the new election would be held.
Supachai said the election became uncertain after the EC and the government failed twice to discuss measures for holding the new election.
The meeting between the EC and the government at the Royal Thai Air Force Club on Thursday was disrupted by protesters led by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee.
Supachai denied that the EC tried to delay the election. He said the EC proposed the government that the PDRC leaders should be allowed to participate in the meeting but the government’s representatives wanted to end the discussion after the protesters entered the compound of the club.
