Deputy Senate Speaker Surachai Liengboonlertchai said Wednesday that he would not listen to Suthep Thaugsuban, secretary general of the People's Democratic Reform Committee, who wants him to nominate a nonpartisan prime minister.
Surachai, acting Senate speaker, said he is free to consider proper measures for solving the political crisis and he would not allow himself to be pressured by Suthep and the PDRC.
“The Senate cannot please any particular person,” Surachai said.
“The Senate has a goal to work for the country. If we listen to proposals, which are not constructive, our works may not be successful.”
