First Army Area Division Maj Gen Apirat Kongsompong Wednesday denied that his division has set up a taskforce in preparations to launch crackdowns on red-shirt protesters.
United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship chairman Jatuporn Prompan said at the red-shirt rally site on the Utthayan Road that the Army was preparing to crack down on red-shirt demonstrators so they should come out in higher number.
Jatuporn said the First Army Division has received an order to suppress the red-shirts like what happened in 2010.
But Apirat said his division was assigned by the Centre for Administration of Peace and Order to keep security on the Utthayan Road to take care of the demonstrators.
