The Centre for Administration of Peace and Order Wednesday issued a statement, warning senators against violating the laws by nominating a nonpartisan prime minister as demanded by anti-government protesters.
The statement read by Tarit Pengdith, director of the Department of Special Investigation, said the call by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee for the acting Senate speaker to nominate a nonpartisan prime minister for a royal appointment is unconstitutional and illegal.
“As a result, the CAPO would like to call on senators, some political groups and supporters of the PDRC to stop breaking the laws by selecting and nominating an unlawful prime minister,” the statement said.
