Somsak denies reports he was arrested on weapons-related charge

Anti-government leader Somsak Kosaisuk on Tuesday denied news reports that he was arrested in Buriram province for carrying weapons in public without a permit.
Somsak said he was in the province to testify against a defamation suit filed by fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
To enter the court builing, he was asked to declare weapons, so he showed the weapons he carried and that he had a permit for carrying them in public.
Earlier rumours in social network claimed that police at a road checkpoint stopped Somsak and others for a search. Somsak, also leader of State Enterprises Workers' Relation Confederation, was then detained for carrying three pistols and the bullets.
