A new caretaker premier, if appointed, must be one who is acceptable to the public, caretaker labour minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said on Wednesday.
He said the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s decision on the controversial ricepledging scheme may affect Yingluck Shinawatra’s premiership and bar her from performing her duty.
“In this case, a new caretaker prime minister will be appointed but it must be somebody who is accepted by the public,” Chalerm said.
The national antigraft agency has charged Yingluck with negligence of duty that has cost the country billions of baht. Chalerm said he believes that political situation will become more heated in April.
