A grenade was thrown into residence of a Sukhumvit residence of a rally leader who blew whistles at ex-wife of fugitive premier Thaksin Shinawatra. However it did not go off although its safety pin was already taken off.
The attack was the second time in less than a week after a pipe bomb was lobbed into Nuthapol Teepsuwan's residence in Klong Toey district on February 28.
Nuthapol and his wife; Taya, were among a group of the anti-government protesters who blew whistles at Khunying Potjamarn Na Pombejra at Emporium Shopping Complex late last month.
Pol Sgt Chatree Lekpetch, a bomb squad officer, told INN news agency that police were alerted at about 4am. Initial investigation found that the grenade was M1A9 type.
