Sonthiyarn to face seven-day detention prior to court order: Tarit

Sonthiyarn Chuenruethai-naitham, a protest leader, will be detained at the Border Patrol Police Region 1 in Pathum Thani for seven days before a court order will be sought to extend his detention, the Department of Special Investigation chief said.
Tarit said after Sonthiyarn is detained for seven days, a court order will be sought for extending his detention by 30 more days.
After the 30-day period, he will be detained under the provision of emergency decree, Tarit added. He said Sonthiyarn was arrested for having violated the emergency decree.
