The National Human Rights Commission Wednesday called on the People's Democratic Reform Committee and the government to ensure that no violence would break out during the Bangkok Shutdown rally on Monday.
The NHRC expressed concern in its statement that violence might happen during the planned massive rally, considered from earlier rallies that ended up in violence.
The NHRC’s statement said the PDRC must ensure that the rally would be peaceful and weapon-free.
It urged the government to ensure safety of the demonstrators.
