Policeman apprehended with gun, 'ice' drug at Rajdamnoen rally site to be fired

A policeman who was apprehended by security officers of the People's Democratic Reform Committee Tuesday night for carrying a gun into the rally site will face dismissal from police service, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
Pol Maj Gen Anucha Ramayanan, deputy Royal Thai Police spokesman and deputy spokesman of Centre for the Administration for Peace and Order, said Pol Sgt Phatthara Phet-avut would face a criminal investigation and severe disciplinary investigation.
He was also found to have 0.5 grammes of crystal methamphetamine with him. The PDRC security guards handed him over to the Samrarnrat police station Tuesday night.
Anucha said Phatthara had not been assigned to carry out any duty at the rally site at all.
