The Pheu Thai, Khon Plod Nee and Chart Pattana parties Monday filed complaints with the Supreme Administrative Court, seeking an injunction to endorse their candidates' right to contest elections in southern border provinces.
The three parties told the court that the Election Commission failed to organise candidacy registrations in 28 constituencies in eight provinces following protests.
They wanted the court to issue an injunction so that their candidates could contest the February 2 election in the constituencies.
The Pheu Thai sought the candidacy rights for its 28 would-be candidates while Nopparut Worachitwutthikul of the Khon Plod Nee sought his right to contest the election in Constituency 6 of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Waranya Meedecha sought her right to contest the election in Constituency 2 of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
