Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda on Monday insisted that his financial accounts were transparent, with all due taxes being paid.
“My accounts should all be opened up on the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s website,” he said, adding, “I will pay whatever I am supposed to pay.”
His remarks came after politicians called for the military-led government’s senior officials to have their own tax records scrutinised, striking back after Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha gave the green light to the Office of the Auditor General to scrutinise at least 60 former politicians each with a net worth of over Bt50 million for any possible tax evasion.
