Plan unveiled to create 500,000 digital startups

Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, president of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, has revealed a plan to create 500,000 digital startups in the country to support the government’s Thailand 4.0 economic policy and drive sustainable growth.

The agency also aims to utilise digital technology to support and develop 24,700 communities in the country’s 77 provinces, about three million small and medium-sized enterprises and about five million households to improve quality of life and support Thailand 4.0 in the digital ear over the next 20 years.

Nuttapon said the agency will also promote and support the digital industry and utilise digital technology to support cultural and societal development along with boosting security and the economy in the digital era.

Under the initiative, laws will be revised to support social and community growth in the digital era, he added.
