Kiartkorn Pakpiensilp resigned as Democrat Party MP for Prachin Buri Wednesday.

He held a press conference to announce his resignation, which took immediate effect.

He earlier announced that he would resign, prompting his opponents to seek a ruling by the Constitution Court as to whether he still had his MP status. The court scheduled to begin a hearing on Sunday.

Kiartkorn said he would return to work as a farmer in his province.
