The Cabinet Tuesday approved of the Internal Security Act in Bangkok's Dusit district from Saturday to Monday.
The enforcement is aimed at keeping law and order when the red-shirt movement planned a mass rally in Bangkok on Sunday.
PM's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtaey said the Cabinet approved the enforcement because intelligence agencies had learnt that the red-shirt leaders planed to instigate unrest with goal to bring down the government.
