PM: Kasit can stay for now
Prime Minister
Abhisit Vejjajiva said Friday that Foreign Minister
Kasit Piromya should be allowed to defend himself instead having to resign right away after facing charges related to the seizure of Bangkok airports.
"We should allow Kasit to defend himself in this step," Abhisit said when reporters asked him whether the foreign minister should resign.
Abhisit said it was not the right standard to demand Kasit to resign once police charged him related to his alleged involvement in the airports' seizure.
The prime minister said he and his government would not interfere in the case.
He said he had yet to review which would be the right moment for Kasit to resign during the proceeding of the case.
