The Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship will hold simultaneous birthday parties for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in Bangkok and other major provinces, one of its leaders said Friday.

Shinawat Phaboonpad said the celebrations would be held at Sanam Luang and main landmarks of major provinces.

The DAAD would invite Buddhist monks to chant prayers to bless the former prime minister.

Thaksin would also make phone call to address his supporters and the phone-in would be broadcast via a satellite TV to all venues of the celebrations.
