Women being wooed into drugs trade: police
Police yesterday urged Thai women to beware of African drug traffickers who they said were luring females into romantic relationships and then using them as drug mules.
Citing a Foreign Affairs Ministry report that 109 Thai women were arrested for drug smuggling overseas last year - most of them in Brazil, Bahrain, Taiwan and China - police deputy spokesman Anucha Romyanan warned that many African drug dealers were using clothing and jewellery businesses as a cover for their activities.
