Villagers return gold

The Fine Arts Department yesterday reported that Phatthalung villagers had so far returned a total of 1.6kg of gold sheets unearthed at a palm plantation in Khao Chai Son district while department experts have discovered three gold beads at the site.

Fine Arts Department director-general Anek Sihamat said that the committee assigned to set the reward rate for people who returned gold (reportedly one third the real value) and check the artifacts would meet on June 12 and should reach some initial conclusions.
