The magic of mums
To celebrate National Mother's Day, Nation Group, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital and Major Cineplex Group (Thailand) have joined forces to host a photo contest titled "The reasons why we hug our mums" via Facebook.
Out of some 300 photos submitted, the contest judges gave first prize to a photo by Payu Tang, featuring a mother holding her ailing son's hand at a hospital. It was described as "A mother's hand is the best medicine to relieve her child's pain from sickness."There were two second prizes. They went to a photo submitted by Booklet B Bear, which features a son prostrating himself at his mum's feet on his graduation day. Another picture, submitted by Porawee Mellenthin, shows a mother hugging her daughter and calls hugging the warmest expression of love, the best gesture to heal discouragement. There were five honourable mention prizes and 53 consolation prizes. The list of winners is at www.facebook.com/viewphotomag.
