Thai-Malaysian conference seeks researchers

The Office of the Education Council is inviting Thai organisations, institutes and researchers to submit research for presentation to the upcoming Fourth ThailandMalaysia Joint Educational Research Conference 2012 in Chiang Mai. The presentation selection will close on March 30 and the results announced in May.

The conference - "ResearchDriven Education Reform: Raising the Quality of Teaching and Learning towards the International Standards" - will be held from July 35.

It will be a platform for teachers and educational personnel of the two countries to present research and to exchange knowledge and academic innovation. The research will be a driving force for education reform and create an educational cooperation network, OEC Secretary General Dr Anek Permvongseni said yesterday. The conference is hosted by the Thai Education Ministry’s OEC and Malaysian Education Ministry’s Educational Planning and Research Division. Each country will present four research policies and 10 classroom or action researches, he said.

Anek said researchers were eligible to submit policy research, provided they held certification from a supervisor. Eligible to submit classroom or action researches, were teachers, educational personnel or general academics who had taught for at least five years and obtained the recommendation from a supervisor/head of the educational institute, he added from.
