Skytrains to launch campaign for 'early birds'

Starting on March 1, on the Sukhumvit Line, the first trains from Mo Chit and Bearing stations will leave at about 5.12am while those of the Silom Line will leave National Stadium and Bang stations at 5.30am.

Surapong Laoha-Unya, director and chief Operating Office said the new service is called ’Early bird’ service timetable. Usually the first trains leave the stations at 6am.

Passengers can check the timetable for first and last trains from BTS Ticket Offices , or information boards located at station concourses.

Although train service will commence earlier, ticket refill and coin change services will be not available before 6am and after 11.45pm. The company recommends passengers to use a BTS Sky SmartPass or Rabbit card. (Ticket Offices will be operate as normal from 6am to 11.45pm for ticket refill and coin change services.)

Surapong said, "the trial run of this ’Earlybird’ service is in response to requests from passengers who wanted to travel before 6am. He added the company will evaluate passenger response to the new timetable after a period of six months, to gauge suitability for further operation.
