Rescued dogs vaccinated in Buri Ram

The Soi Dog Foundation has cooperated with Livestock Department officials and veterinarians at Chulalongkorn University to vaccinate dogs at animal shelters in Buri Ram.

The foundation announced that its volunteers, livestock officials and the university veterinarians on Wednesday vaccinated 244 dogs that had been rescued from illegal dog-meat trade.
The foundation’s volunteer team will remain in the northeastern province to vaccinate the remaining dogs at the shelters and expects to vaccinate about 2,000 dogs in all.
It requires donations from the public, however, to continue the mission. The vaccine costs Bt95 per bottle. Bayer Co Ltd and Best Equipment Co have discounted the price for the foundation.
The foundation said it also needs support for montly foods programme for rescued dogs at all animal shelters that costs about Bt2 milion a month.
