Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) has joined with France's University-based Institutes of Technology, known as IUTs, in hands-on educational management development.
RMUTL recently welcomed delegates from IUTs in France to their campus for discussions over the matter including a possibility to integrate IUTs’ teaching with RMUTL teaching. The discussion stemmed from two things. Firstly, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s visit to IUTs in France led to a plan to provide scholarships for lecturers and students at nine universities of technology in Thailand to study hands-on educational management at French institutes. Secondly, the Office of Higher Education Commission’s policy to study and apply the French institutes’ hands-on educational management at Thai institutes, starting with RMUTL.
RMUTL president Namyuth Songthanapitak said the university regarded co-operation with IUTs in France to promote the production of practical and skilful graduates, as one of its main missions. The university would look at the possibility of sending lecturers and students to study teaching and learning methods in France at a later stage.
