Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was discharged from Chulalongkorn Hospital yesterday after a complete recovery from surgery to remove calcium deposits from her chest.
The princess arrived at Sa Pathum Palace this morning amid cheers from well-wishers, who lined the route from hospital to her residence.
A team of physicians said the princess is in good health with no complications. The results of the surgery are satisfactory, the princess’s temperature is normal, her appetite has returned normal and she has experienced no post-surgery complications, the physicians said.
However, the princess has been advised to refrain from royal duties and engagements for a period.
The Royal Household Bureau said on Wednesday the princess has been informed that the public had expressed concern about her health and signed wishes for her speedy recovery.
The bureau said she appreciated the wishes and thanked the people. The public have until 6pm today to sign good wishes for the princess.
Doctors found calcium deposits in the princess’s chest during an annual medical check-up, leading to the December 17 surgery.
